Day - 1 - Arrive Delhi.
Arrive Delhi and transfer to your hotel. Later on, enjoy City tour of New Delhi. Drive past the Presidential Palace, the Rashtrapati Bhavan and the secretariat buildings, the India Gate, the High Court Building and the Old Fort. Visit Humayun’s Tomb built in 1565 AD the Qutub Minar, and the Birla (Laxmi Narayan) Temple, with its many idols.
Day - 2 - In Delhi
Today morning after breakfast enjoys City tour of Old Delhi covering a visit to Red Fort (closed on Mondays) built by Emperor Shah Jehan. Within its walls are marble palaces and a grand audience chambers, the Diwan-i-Khas and Diwan-i-Aam. Opposite the forts is the black and white onion dome and minarets of the Jama Masjid. Drive past Kotla Firoze Shah, ruins of an old fort with the 13mtr high Ashoka Pillar of 3rd BC. Visit Raj Ghat, where Mahatma Gandhi was cremated in 1948. Drive through the old city subject to traffic restrictions.
Day - 3 - Drive Delhi to Agra (204kms/approx 4 hours)
Today morning after breakfast depart for Agra by road. En-route visit Akbar’s Tomb at Sikandra. Arrive Agra and transfer to hotel. Today enjoy half-day tour - visiting Taj Mahal (closed on Fridays) - the greatest love story ever told. Visit Agra Fort - behind its forbidding red sandstone battlements laid palaces that tell the story of the Moghul Empire. Also, visit a tomb of Itmad-ud-dullah – a two-storied tomb bearing mosaics in inlaid semi-precious stones.
Day - 4 - Drive Agra to Jaipur (237kms/ approx 05 hours)
After Breakfast at hotel depart for Jaipur by road. Enroute visit Fatehpur Sikri, which is (37kms/01hour) located in the west of Agra. It is - an epic poem in red sandstone, built by Emperor Akbar the Great in 1569 and deserted 14 years later because its water supply failed. Visit Buland Darwaza, the victory gate (134 feet high). There’s the Imperial Jama Masjid, the Panch Mahal - a strange building that resembles a Buddhist Temple, a cloistered courtyard that was the Hall of Public Audience. Later in the afternoon arrive at Jaipur and transfer to hotel.
Day - 5 - In Jaipur
Today morning after breakfast enjoy an excursion to Amber fort - Just 7 miles north of Jaipur is Amber with its a honey-coloured fortress-palace in the Aravalli Hills which can be mounted by elephant or jeep (on direct payment). Later in the afternoon enjoy a city tour of Jaipur - Visit ‘Hawa Mahal’ (Palace of Winds) an elaborate building encrusted with delicate honeycomb screens and carved balconies. Also, visit the City Palace Museum and Jantar Mantar (an Observatory).
Day - 6 - Depart
Today after breakfast, transfer to Jaipur airport/ railway station for your onward journey.
