Day - 1 - Cochin - Munnar
We will pick you up from Cochin Railway station / Airport and drive you to the serene beauty of Munnar going through beautiful waterfalls and spectacular sceneries. Check into the hotel, relax and breathe in the fresh and pure air of Munnar. Rest of the day is free for your own leisure. In the evening, you can go for strolls or may explore local markets. Overnight at Munnar.
Have your morning breakfast and then we will start for local sightseeing. Situated at the confluence of three mountain streams - Mudrapuzha, Nallathanni and Kundale, Munnar is 1600 metres above sea level. This majestic hill station was once the summer resort of the British government in South India. We will take you to Munnar Rajamala, a lovely green paradise, home to rarest species of the mountain goat. Setting off to the country’s first-ever ‘Tea Museum’, we will carry forward our trip to Mattupetty Dam, an ideal picnic spot, then Kundal Lake where you can enjoy a Shikara Ride. We will then go to the Echo Point, a brilliantly scenic lake embankment where you can hear your voice returning to you again and again. Mesmerise in the utmost charming beauty of Munnar and return back to have calm sleep at your hotel.
Today after breakfast we proceed to Thekkady. 110 km away from Munnar, Thekkady is one of the world’s most fascinating wildlife reserves. The Periyar Wildlife Sanctuary in Thekkady is one of the finest wildlife reserves of India. Spread across the thick evergreen forest, it is noted for its diversity of wildlife, unending mountain chains, spectacular surroundings and mighty elephants. One the 27 Tiger Reserves, you can enjoy some optional activities like
Boating at Periyar Lake, Spice Plantation visit and Elephant Rides at an extra cost. Overnight stay is in Thekkady.
Have a fill at morning breakfast, check out from the hotel and breathe in the spicy scent while leaving Thekkady. Road drive helps to enjoy the first glimpse and feel of any destination. And when it’s Kerala, it makes you fall in love with it again and again. Have the first glimpse of Kumarakom, a tiny backwater hamlet perched on the western banks of the Vembanadu Lake. Check-in the hotel and relax for a while. In the afternoon, we proceed for local sightseeing. Choose a canoe or a motorboat on an extra cost and devour the beauty of backwaters paradise at its best. Overnight at Kumarakom.
Day - 5 - Kumarakom - Kovalam
Have your breakfast and seep in the beauty of backwaters in your mind. Check out from the hotel for driving off to Kovalam, one of the prime beach destinations of India. Check-in the hotel on arrival. Rest of the day is for your leisure. Enjoy the evening watching a spectacular sunset or swimming at the pristine beach waters. Overnight at Kovalam.
Day - 6 - Kovalam - Kanyakumari - Kovalam tour
After breakfast proceeds for a day trip to Kanyakumari. Kanyakumari, 90 km from Kovalam, is the southernmost tip of India’s mainland. We take you to the Padmanbhapuram Palace, a magnificent 16th-century palace, Suchithram Temple, where the trinity Brahma, Vishnu and Mahesh are worshipped together. We then visit Gandhi Memorial, a temple to commemorate Gandhiji followed by a visit to Triveni Sangam, where the Arabian Sea and Bay of Bengal get united with the Indian Ocean. Here, we will take you to Vivekananda Memorial, where the great Indian philosopher Vivekananda is said to have meditated before setting out as one of India's most important religious crusaders. We will also visit Kanyakumari Temple, dedicated to the virgin Goddess Kanyakumari, an incarnation of Goddess Parvathi. Enjoy the sunset in the evening and drive back to Kovalam for an overnight stay.
After breakfast check out from the Hotel and drive to Thiruvananthapuram, previously called Trivandrum. It is an ancient city with traditions dating back to 1000 BC. This capital city of Kerala is a sprawling seaside metropolis built on seven hills and still retains its past glory. Here, we will visit mesmerising Padmanabhaswami Temple, dedicated to Lord Vishnu, stunning Sri Chitra Art Gallery, displaying selected paintings and exquisite works, Napier Museum, displaying prized ancient stone sculptures and artefacts. If time permits, we can also visit the Zoo. Bid your goodbyes to the God’s Country as we drop you to the airport/ station for your return journey.
