ITINERARY

Day 1: Colombo – Kandy via Pinnawala
On arrival at the Colombo International airport and after customs, immigrations and visa formalities, you will be met and transferred to Kandy via Pinnawala. Here you will visit the Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage (entrance fees not included and to be paid directly).
The Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage is one of Sri Lankas most popular tourist attractions. Situated half-way between Colombo and Kandy, the orphanage now has a population of about 75 elephants. The elephants here range from new born calves to elderly matriarchs and include orphaned and abandoned elephants as well as those injured in the wild. The original objective of establishing the Orphanage was inclined more towards tourism, but soon it became a conservation and educational centre.

Kandy
Kandy was the last capital of the Sri Lankan Kings and is a World Heritage Site. Visit the Temple of the Tooth Relic (entrance fees not included and to be paid directly). Overnight in Kandy at your pre-arranged hotel.

Day 2: Kandy – Nuwara Eliya via Tea Plantation
After breakfast, depart Kandy for Nuwara Eliya. En route visit a tea plantation and tea factory, where some of the best tea in the world is produced. You will learn about the process of manufacturing tea and also how the tea is graded. Proceed to Nuwara Eliya. Overnight in Nuwara Eliya at your pre-arranged hotel.

Day 3: Nuwara Eliya – Bentota
After breakfast, depart for Bentota. Rest of the day is at leisure. Overnight in Bentota at your pre-arranged hotel.

Day 4: Bentota to Colombo
After breakfast, depart for Colombo. En route do a city tour of Colombo.
Colombo Like many other capital cities in developing countries, Colombo is fast changing its face with skyscrapers rising from where old buildings once stood. Yet in some parts of the city, you will find the old world charm when you see the British built colonial buildings. Other places of interest are a Hindu and a Buddhist temple, residential areas where you will find the stately homes of the affluent, old parliament and the Bandaranaike Memorial International Conference Hall (BMICH) – which is a gift to Sri Lanka from the Peoples Republic of China. Also visit the House of Fashions, ODEL, Noritake Ceramic shop and a local souvenir shop. Rest of the day is at leisure. Overnight in Colombo at your pre-arranged hotel.

Day 5: Depart Colombo
After breakfast at the hotel, you will be transferred to the Colombo International airport for your return flight to India.
