Fairy Queen Heritage Luxury Train in India

The Fairy Queen, built in 1855, is the world’s oldest steam locomotive in regular operation today, plying between New Delhi to Alwar in India. The locomotive was certified by the Guinness Book of Records to be the oldest operational locomotive after the Rajasthan government invoked it in 2004 to lug a deluxe train in order to boost tourism in the area. The Fairy Queen is run on the lines of the Palace on Wheels, the internationally renowned luxury train.

In 1997, after the runaway success of the Palace on Wheels, the locomotive was restored to full working order in preparation for its first mainline journey in 88 years and its return to commercial service on July 18 that year. The two-day excursion sees the train plying from New Delhi to Alwar to the Sariska Tiger Reserve. The train pulled by this locomotive can accommodate thirty-eight passengers and the ticket is priced at Rs. 7,500 for adults and Rs. 3,750 for children.

The Fairy Queen has a 60-seater air-conditioned chair car specially designed with a large glass window from where you can have a frontal view of the Locomotive, besides there is a well maintained pantry car for on board catering. As an added attraction, the coach has a beautiful lounge in the front, which provides a scenic view of the countryside. For your enjoyment numerous cultural programs are organized in the evening of the first day at the Hotel Sariska Palace. Fairy Queen Stoppages : The train will stop for 10 minutes each at Garhi Harasuru, Pataudi Road, Rewari, Ajarka and Khairthal railway stations in both directions for water & other requirements of the locomotive.

Your Fairy Queen Tour Includes:

Booking rules :
Full package cost has to be paid at the time of booking.

Cancellation Rules :
1. There shall be no refund except.
a)- When the train is cancelled for technical reasons by the Railways.
b)- When the tourist is not able to travel on account of unforeseen circumstances.

2. The refund will be granted as follows :-
In case of (a) above
(I) Full refund of the fare less 1% handling charges
In case of (b) above
(I)No refund, if the ticket is cancelled less than 15 days in advance including the date of journey.
(II)50% refund, if the ticket is cancelled more than 15 days in advance excluding date of journey.
