Lahaul-Spiti is a district in Himachal Pradesh. Both the valleys are located on the India and Tibet border. Earlier both the regions were separate until they were merged in 1960. Both the districts are distinctly opposite.
Spiti is also known as Little Italy, is a cold-mountain desert that is very challenging to cross. While Lahaul is greener and much more developed than Spiti. Rudyard Kipling in his book "Kim" called Spiti "A place where gods live" and "A world within a world".
