About Pench National Park

It sprawls over an area of 758 sq. Km that covers the forest tracts of Balaghat, Seoni and Nagpur districts. A dam has been built on the Pench river on the south-eastern boundary of the reserve. The diverse fauna of the reserve includes 164 bird species, 33 species of mammals, 10 amphibians species, 50 fish species, 30 species of reptiles, along with leopard, dhole, jungle cat, sloth bear, jackal, common palm civet, small Indian civet, Wolves, nilgai, wild pig, barking deer and chowsingha.

While the flora of the park includes trees like Madhuca indica, Miliusa velutina, Terminalia Buchanania lanzan, tomentosa, Lagerstroemia parviflora, Ougeinia dalbergoides and Lannea coromandalica.
